1873; Elected State Senate, 1880; Re-elected 1884; 12 years Chairman
Republican State Committee; Secretary of State, 1896 - 1900 - 1904; Elected
Governor of W. Va. 1904 Present incumbent (1905) Republican.
Member of Presbyterian Church.
