James A Hughes
- Huntington. M. C. Fifth District. Born Corunna,
Ont. Feb. 27, 1861. Removed to Ashland, Ky., 1873, and
engaged in general merchandise business until 1881.
Elected to Ky. Legislature 1887-88. Removed to
Huntington 1892. Elected to W. Va. State Senate term
1894 - 98. Elected to 57th Congress in 1902;
Re-elected to the 59th Congress in 1904. Politically a
Republican. Identified with Lumber, Coal and Oil
Interests. In 1892 organized the West Virginia Savings
Bank & Trust Co., of Huntington. Master, Mason and
B. P. O. E.
