Sephardim Genealogy

Sephardim is a Hebrew word assigned to the Jews of Spain and Portugal.  They were at one time the largest minority on the Iberian peninsula.  Late in the 15th century they were given the options of conversion, death, or exile.  

The descendants of these people are now scattered over the world from Turkey, Holland, Central and South America, the Caribbean, and the United States.  Those the converted were subjected to the inquisition.  Many were sent to prison, and burned alive.  A sad state of events.
