Elizabeth, William. Perniza went to Evansville, Washington County, Arkansas with Alexander ca 1833. All her children were born there. She died 9 Sep 1850 and is buried in the Dunagin Cemetery, Washington County. I believe that several of the Olivers found nearby in Washington County in 1850 are siblings or related somehow, however, I cannot prove it, because I've never found her parents. . bonnieh@bigskytel.com

She is listed in the 1850 Pulaski Co, MO census and it shows her as born in KY and her parents born in VA. The spelling of her maiden name could be KEALING, KELIN, KEELER, KEELEN, etc. I have ruled out KEELING as I have followed up on numerous Mary Ann's with that last name, but none moved to MO. I have checked the death certificates on her children and some show KEALING, others show nothing. I know she married William Addison "Add" TROWER and they eloped as she was 17 and he 29. Mary Ann Robinson Lathen 1889 Tenafly,NJ John William Lathen 1912 New Jersey and New York Children: Dr. John William Lathen,Jr.
I am seeking information regarding the birth parents of my paternal grandmother, Mary Ann Robinson Lathen. She was taken as a foster child into the home of Jacob and Rebecca Robinson -the only Black Family in Woodridge, NJ. This was in 1899. She was a mulatto and remembered being in an orphanage in Brooklyn adjacent to a nursing home for the elderly. Mary remembered that she and her grandmother's surname was Gould. I have reason to believe that my grandmother Mary Ann Robinson Lathen was born to a Black member of the Robinson family and a white Gould family member in northern NJ. Mary Ann was a piano teacher and organist at the Episcopal Church of the Incarnation in Jersey City, NJ and later played organ, primarily, in the Black Baptist churches of Bergen Cty. Any info would be greatly appreciated. .
