Jane Watts 1700 Hempstead, Long Island, New York Israel Horsfield 1720 New York City,New York Nothing can be found of a Watts family in Hempstead in the 1698 census. No mention of Jane Watts has been found except a record of her marriage in 1720 by the Rev. Poyer to Israel Horsfield. Her maiden name could have been Wattson as some with that name in Hempstead shortened it. Most of them were ranchers and Jane's husband was a butcher. So far no Janes are listed in the right age bracket in either Watts or Wattson. This is a 30-year brick wall. The couple had 12 children. Jane died in 1751. Alice H. Williams aliceholt6@msn.com

Christiana (Chaney) Overton about 1780 Nottoway County, VA Moses Overton ? Nottoway County, VA Christiana Overton appears in the 1850 census for Nottoway Co., VA with Moses Overton. In at least one legal document she is referred to as "Chaney" Kathleen Hunt CESHUNT@aol.com

Amanda Jane Russell 06/12/1869 Need This Need This Need This Grainger and Hamblem County Amanda (Jane) Russell born 06/12/1869 died 08/21/1947. Her known children: Willie Russell (dob? 1900),George "Parker" no dob known, Walter Lee "Parker" dob 08/13/1901. These three sons plus two daughters who died in the 1890's were NOT sired by Joe Parker. Joe and Amanda had 3 children but it isn't known if they were legally married. Those children: Louis Adam and Bessie Eve (twins) dob 03/11/1906-Bessie P. Mills died 06/01/1971 & Louis A. Parker (married Hazel) died 11/22/77. As luck would have it, I located Hazel Parker a month before she died. No time. Jessie Kate Parker 12/1909-1992 married her own first cousin, Roy Russell and they had at least one child, Patsy. Roy's father and mother were Jerry and Matilda Russell. This indicates that Amanda Jane Russell and Jerry Russell were brother and sister. I am connected through Walter Lee "Parker". The three oldest sons took the Parker name but it's not known who the natural father was of any of Amanda's first 5 children. The name Harrington from Moorsburg or Tates' Springs have been mentioned in family folklore, but no confirmation. If I can get additional information on Amanda, or even Jerry Russell, perhaps I can get over this brick wall. Thanks, Sheri P. Kelly bluemoonrotts@yahoo.com
