Mary's father, H.P. is grouped with the family of Aaron Posey Freeman from Rowan County North Carolina, and it is assumed that H.P. is the son of Aaron Freeman and Allabeth Ball, but that connection has not yet been proven.. . Helen is featured in a Canton newspaper "The Sunday Repository" on Sunday, Feb. 17, 1924 as Mrs. E.A. Aldrich. In 1921 she and her husband were present at the opening of King Tut's tomb in Egypt. Her husband took the first photographs and covered the event for the New York Tribune and National Geographic Magazine (which is the subject of the article). Helen and her husband died in a violent car crash in Yugoslavia somewhere between this newspaper article (1924) and 1929.
