Sarah Donehue 1838 Pennsylvania Louis or Lucius Kingston unknown "Philadelphia, Pennsylvania" "Sarah Donehue appears in the 1860 Census of Philadelphia in the 8th Precinct of the 24th Ward.
(house #397, family #381) She is living with her spouse, Lucius Kingston listed in the census as Louis Kingston (born in Pennsylvania in 1831/died March 1, 1896 - listed as a machinist) and a daughter, Josephine Kingston, age 10/12 at the time of the 1860 census. Sara Donehue Kingston was born 1838 in Pennsylvania and died January 1, 1899 (place unknown).

In the same household (house #397, family #382 (Image 459 of 606 Ancestry.com) were the following individuals (possibly some may be Sarah Donehue Kingston's siblings/ maybe her mother as well):

Note: The spelling of Donehue is listed as Donohue in the 1860 census:
William Donehue, age 29, paper stainer, born PA
Tressilla Donehue, age 23, born PA
Catherine Donehue, age 3, born PA
Charles Donehue, age 23, paper stainer, born PA
Sarah Donehue, widow, age 60 (maybe her mother?)
born PA
Emma Donehue, age 16, tailoress, born PA
Lydia Donehue, age 13, attended school, born PA
John Lacey/Lacy, age 28, carpenter, born PA
James Stonehill, age 30, plasterer, born England.

It is known that Sarah Donehue Kingston and her husband, Lucius a/k/a Louis Kingston subsequently had at least two other children - Andrew Jackson Kingston, Born March 11, 1870 in Philadelphia, PA as well as a daughter, Gertrude Kingston (married name unknown)

Have been unable to learn any additional information regarding any members of this family with the exception of Andrew Jackson Kingston who was my grandfather. I have good descendency from his family, but any information on his mother, Sarah Donehue, (or Lucius Kingston, for that matter) has never been known." Sylvia Repsher rep1@mail.emcs.net

Catherine West Potts "June 20, 1872" "Philadelphia, Pennsylvania" Andrew Jackson Kingston "May 23, 1890 Camden, NJ" "Philadelphia, Scranton, Eatonville, Pennsylvania" "Catherine West Potts married Andrew Jackson Kingston in 1872. She is the daughter of Amanda Potts as per the census taken 1900 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where the lived on North Sixth Street.

Looking for any information regarding her siblings and/or ancestors. In the 1900 census Amanda Potts, Catherine's mother who was then age 60, stated that she had borne 6 children, 4 of whom were living in 1900.

I do believe that the fourr living children of Amanda Potts who would be sisters and a brother of Catherine West Potts Kingston would be
1) Pauline Potts who married John Shone and had
one know daughter, Laura Shone.
2) Florence Potts who was living with the
John Shonefamily in Scranton, Pennsylvania
during the 1910 census
3) Charles Potts - have nearly no information on
him except that he had lost one arm in a
railroad accident.
4) and Catherine West Potts Kingston (my
grandmother) She was the mother of 12
children: Florence May Kingston (died at
3 weeks of age (2 Jun 1892/26 Jun 1892);
Pauline Luttman Kingston (Goble); Lucius
Harry Kingston; Gertrude Kingston (12 Dec
1892/26 May 1900); Laura Sylvia Kingston
(Goble); Anna Amelia Kingston (Hoover);
Catherine West Kingston (Smith);
Violet Kingston (died at 17 months of age)
Ruth Fanchon Kingston (Lane); Andrew
Jackson Kingston, Jr.; Charles Teese

I have been unable for years to locate any further information regarding Catherine Kingston's father; any aunts or uncles, grandparents, etc. Do believe Amanda Potts had a sister, Susan Teese. Both were listed in the 1870 Census of Philadelphia. I do not know maiden names (or if they were even married) Would appreciate any information that might be available.

Burials at Fernwood Cemetery in Philadelphia, PA include the two little Kingston girls, There are two adjacent plots one owned by Mrs. Ella Potts conveyed to her March 23, 1885 and Mrs. Pauline Potts and within are the following people who must be related in some way, but unknown at this time: Frank K. Homan, d. 24 Jun 1894; Mary J. Shone d. 4 Mar 1901; James Shone, d. 5 Jan 1907; Fannie M. Potts, d. 6 Mar 1883; Catharine Thompson, d. 14 Jun 1887; Frances Wright, d. 17 Jul 1887; Luella Black, d. 13 Dec 1894; William A. Shaffer, d. 14 Nov 1893, and Mary Couslick or Cousick, d. 1 Mar 1899.

Since I received this information from the Fernwood Cemetery, I always felt that if I could identify the people buried within the plots, it might give some clue to the ancestry of Catherine and Amanda Potts. Please contace me if you can help identify these individuals or have any scrap of information. Thank you.
Kingston; and David Engram Kingston.
