She died in New York City in 1937. We are not sure where she was born, but her first language was French, so perhaps Alsace-Lorraine. But have read of a Becker family in Austria who were French speakers. However, the timing of the information could have been Austria-Hungary, which could meant a lot of places. Her husband, Julius Fischer (Pincus)was born in 1852/1853 in Germany, and died in 1930 in New York City. He was a merchant and real estate investor. Their son, my grandfather, Albert Edward Fischer, was born in 1878/1879, and came here with them as an infant or small child; he died in NYC in 1943. His death certificate says he was born in Goettingen, and we have located the graves of a Fischer family in Goettingen, whose names seem to match---Simon and Goldine Blach Fischer. They were Jews. But we have not a clue about Sitta Adrienne Engel's birth, circumstances, where, etc, or where she and my great grandfather lived in Germany, other than Goettingen.
