Father: Nathan Horn (b. 1847 cal/ d. before March 6, 1953)
Mother: Martha Reed (b. 1849 cal/d. before 1951)
Both parents were born in Indiana.

Would love to hear from anyone with information on Horn or Reed in Morgan/Putnam county, Indiana area.

"Ellin ""Nellie"" (Costin) Sturgeon" 1820 cal. Kentucky William Thompson Sturgeon "November 26, 1840" "Owen/Putnam/Morgan Counties, Indiana" "Nellie (Costin) Sturgeon was my great-great-grandmother. She married Phillip Hiram Alley in Owen County, Indiana in 1840. The marraige record has her first name as ""Ellin"" and subsequent census records show her as ""Ellen"".

Nellie's lost her husband and a young daughter to measles. She is last recorded in the 1900 Morgan County Census, but I have no information on her death or burial. I would love to hear from anyone with information about her.

Her husband Tom and two of their daughters (Charlotte and Hannah) are burried in Samaria Cemetery. Ironically, Tom's step-mother Sally (widow of Jeremiah Sturgeon) is burried next to him - My brother's and I are certain this was to have been Nelly's spot, and theorize that since she outlived both her husband and step-son, that it fell to Nelly (a window herself) to arrainge for the burial. Living on a small Civil War Pension, Nelly probably gave up her own grave for her mother-in-law.

Tom and Nelly had the following children:
America, Kennas, Harriet, Marietta, Sarah Jane, Jane, Lucinda, Hannah, and Charlotte.
