University of Iowa; graduated from Chicago University (Ph. B.) in 1895;
soon after secured life diploma as a teacher in Iowa.
Began teaching in Iowa, 1879;
Superintendent of schools Cresco, Iowa, 1885 - 91; Principal of high school
Aurora, Ill., 1891 - 3; Principal high school, La Grange, Ill., 1893 - 1900;
elected Principal Chicago Normal School, 1889, but before taking that
position was elected Superintendent city schools, Chicago.
