Charles McKenny
Pres. Milwaukee State Normal
School
Born in Eaton County,
Mich., in 1860, and up to the time of removing to Wisconsin, resided
in that state. Educated in District school and at the Michigan
Agricultural College. Taught three years in the Eighth Grade and
two years as Principal of the Vermontville public schools. Member of
the county board of state examiners for eleven years. In 1889 he
completed the classical course in Olivet College and continued for
seven years as an instructor in that institution. In 1896 became
Principal of the Central State Normal School at Mt. Pleasant,
resigning to accept Presidency of the Milwaukee Normal in April, 1900.
Has done institute work in
various parts of the United States and addressed teachers' conventions
at Boston and Salem.
